Oil Colours

Oil painting is the most universal technique, becoming the most used pictorial procedure for more than 400 years.

Oil technique can be applied to give an opaque or transparent effect.

Oil painting can be worked in different ways: colour on colour, the paint can be mixed well on a palette or if preferred directly on a canvas, by layers, in this case the color is applied on a dry layer, or otherwise in glazes, very thin and transparent layers of paint.

One particular feature of the oil brushstroke is that it is visible after applying the paint.
